Bloggin’ Recap: March 23rd-29th

blogginrecapheader.jpgIt’s Sunday, the beginning of a new week so that means it’s time for a Bloggin’ Recap. A feature inspired by A Bookish Heart. Every Sunday I’ll get the chance to tell you what’s going on in my life, what I’ve posted for the week, what to expect in the upcoming week and posts I enjoyed from other bloggers.

In Real Life

On Tuesday I found out that I NEED GLASSES!!!! I’m strangely excited over this development being the ONLY person in my family of five that does not wear glasses. In fact I use to be so jealous of my family members that I would lie to the eye doctor as a child to try to cheat myself to some specs. I guess I did it in a rather obvious way because my results made it seem as if I was legally blind yet I wasn’t running into any walls making the whole thing fishy…darn my nine year old brain!

But at twenty two my eyesight has definitely decreased in quality. I can still legally drive without them and such, I’ve just noticed words farther away are becoming more difficult to read and you all know how much I love words, so I couldn’t let this continue.

The eye doctor deemed my eyes glasses worthy, saying that I wasn’t required to actually wear them for anything but that I would see better with them. I know it doesn’t really make sense but I DON’T CARE because now I get to wear glasses!!! Although I am a little afraid that it’s going to be like my excitement over riding the bus the first time. Will glasses start to lose their charm after a while like the bus did?

That’s pretty much it for this week, though next week will feature some exciting developments. One of which is an interview for a possible job (which I desperately need to feed my book buying habit) and the other is TOP SECRET, but shall be shared if everything goes smoothly.

My friend is starting a blog soon and she wants to water mark her photos. Does anyone know of a free photo editing site that can accomplish this?

This month you all voted for Hermione to feature for In Their Shoes. Who will you vote for next month?

Next In Their Shoes Character

  • Bella Swan from Twilight (48%, 11 Votes)
  • Beatrice Prior from Divergent (26%, 6 Votes)
  • Clary Fray from City of Bones (13%, 3 Votes)
  • Tessa Gray from Clockwork Angel (13%, 3 Votes)

Total Voters: 23

  1. Congrats on the glasses, and the future job interview. I’ve worn glasses since I was in high school. I am kind if a wuss about contacts so I will wear glasses till I die.

I really like your recap posts. Have a great week. Good luck on your interview.

    • Thanks Chris! Since I don’t really *need* to wear my glasses I didn’t see the sense in shelling out money for contacts, so I probably won’t be wearing them anytime soon either! Thanks for reading and the luck, I needed it! 🙂

  2. Lol I know how it can be like when everyone else seems to have something that you don’t! I think glasses are an awesome trend these days. I’ve had mine my whole life so naturally I wish I didn’t have glasses lol.

    • Yeah, my whole family gave me icy glares when they saw how excited I was for glasses. I really love the frames I picked out though, so I just can’t help it! 😉 Thanks for reading Jeann!

  3. I guess sitting in front of a computer monitor eight hours a day for my job accelerated my need for eyeglasses. It was always absolutely fascinating to me how things could gradually change with your eyesight, and you would never realize just how much they changed until you put a pair of corrective lenses on. Suddenly, the picture became so much clearer 😉 And that would be both the physical picture and the mental picture, when you think about it. It helped me realize just how often we need to step back and look at things through different lenses and gain an appreciation for where we are in our lives. OK, stepping off the philosophical soap box now 😉 Thanks for another wonderful read Lindsey and best wishes for an inspired day!

    • Oh Dave, only you could make me appreciate glasses all the more by putting a philosophical spin on it. It is funny how the eyesight slowly betrays you all without your knowledge, and the moment you put on your brand new specs, their betrayal is out in the open. Thanks for reading, glad to know someone else enjoys glasses.

  4. Glasses! I’ve always wanted me a nerdy pair of thick rimmed glasses. I bet you’ll look awesome!

Lots of great links on here this week, thanks Lindsey. 🙂

  5. I was actually kind of excited when I needed glasses too! There are so many awesome frame designs. picmonkey is the best free tool I’ve found!

    • I’m glad someone else understands my excitement, because my whole family keeps giving me icy glares! 😉 Thanks, I’ll tell my friend about Picmonkey, I appreciate the info! 🙂

  6. Thanks for including my links! 🙂 I got glasses back in high school and I don’t mind wearing them. At one point I had these really cool frames and I loved them, but then they broke 🙁 So it’s just regular ones for me right now, but hopefully one day I can get ones that are prettier.

    • No problem Miranda, I always enjoy reading your blog! Yay, someone else who likes glasses, that gives me hope! I’m sorry to hear about your frames though, that stinks! I guess it’s true when the say all good things must come to an end? I really like the frames I picked out, but am waiting on the order to come in so hopefully I still like them after time passes! 😉

  7. haha, yay for glasses! I liked picking out frames when I was younger. I haven’t worn them in years, but I need to get my eyes checked again and get a new pair! Hope you get some awesome ones!

    • Thanks Katy! I’m so excited about my frames, but I don’t really remember too much what they look like, haha! I remember liking them though, so that’s what’s important right? Hopefully I’ll still like them when they come in. Thanks for reading! 😉
