Bloggin’ Recap: March 16th-22nd

Posted March 23, 2014 in Bloggin' Recap, Weekly Features / 8 Comments

blogginrecapheader.jpgIt’s Sunday, the beginning of a new week so that means it’s time for a Bloggin’ Recap. A feature inspired by A Bookish Heart. Every Sunday I’ll get the chance to tell you what’s going on in my life, what I’ve posted for the week, what to expect in the upcoming week and posts I enjoyed from other bloggers.

In Real Life

This week has been chalk full of crazy things! First of all, I moved to a new site! I’m now officially the owner of The Day Dreamer and Candy Eater here on WordPress. It’s been a lot of work and I’m still busy cleaning up links and such but I’m so happy with my new layout and oh my goodness– so many plugins!

Tuesday I went to my local ice cream shop and ordered a one scoop sundae, this is what they gave me:

Does this look like one scoop to you?

You can imagine the state that my belly was in after consuming this thing. After ice cream I headed to the library across the street (because I’m the proud owner of a new library card) and picked up my first two audio books: The Call of the Wild and White Fang. I was really hesitant to try audio books but decided to give them a try and I really enjoyed it! I think having a good narrator is key though as I’ve heard some horror stories of crazy accents and monotone voices. But it was exhilirating to listen to The Call of the Wild and I can’t wait to dive into White Fang! Are you into audio books? If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear from you!

I also saw Divergent! And you know what the exciting part is? I got to see it the day before it officially premiered because my cousin works at a movie theater and they had an exclusive employee viewing Wednesday night! I thought it was a great movie, they couldn’t include everything from the book, but they did a great job conveying the overall feel. And also: TOBIAS!

Do you want to build a snowman?

Frozen came out this week too and I bought it and watched it for the FIRST TIME EVER and have seen it four times since. The music is phenomonal and Olaf is probably the best character ever. I do have just one tiny issue with the movie though. (SPOILER ALERT! PLEASE DON’T READ THE REST OF THIS PARAGRAPH IF YOU HAVE NOT YET SEEN FROZEN). I don’t like the fact that they made Hans evil. It just didn’t fit in with his character at the beginning of the novel and I felt he was just a tool to make Ana and Kristoff the obvious choice. Don’t get me wrong, I love Kristoff and Ana together but can a girl not choose a guy just because he isn’t the one? Note ladies, a man does not have to be evil and murderous to not be considered a love interest.

I’ll be posting another feature of In Their Shoes this week and I want you to choose the next character! Be sure to vote in the poll  and if you don’t know what my new feature is all about check out my Katniss Everdeen edition!

Next In Their Shoes Character

  • Hermione Granger (40%, 2 Votes)
  • Clary Fray (40%, 2 Votes)
  • Bella Swan (20%, 1 Votes)
  • Beatrice Prior (0%, 0 Votes)

Total Voters: 5

  1. Sounds like you had a great week. The ice cream looks awesome and I bought Frozen the day it came out to. Sadly I still haven’t seen it yet. My wife and kids have watched it every day, but since I work two jobs I’m not home. I plan to watch it for the first time tomorrow.

Love these posts, have a great week.

    • Haha, yeah Frozen is definitely one of those movies that doesn’t get old! I’m so excited for you! You’ll have to let me know how you like it, thanks for reading! 🙂

  2. Thanks for sharing my links! 🙂 oh my god that sundae looks SO GOOD. It’s been forever since I’ve had ice cream. I can’t wait for the local places to start opening up around here now that the weather is getting (a little bit) warmer!

  3. Thanks for the link love! 😀

That sundae is HUGE. I wonder how big a two scoop one is? o.O

So many links and so many I haven’t seen yet – thanks for sharing!

    • No problemo, I’ve quickly become a huge fan of your blog! 🙂

The sizes of ice cream at this place go from one scoop to regular to large. Then there is the SOS where it’s like seven times as big as the one in the picture. So much ice cream but oh so good! Thanks for reading Kelly! 🙂
